Kindergarten with Mrs. Flavin

Welcome to our Class!
Mrs. Flavin & Mrs. Tortorella

Here's a recap of what we have done all week:
ELA-----"Trucks Roll"
Our reading groups learned exciting vocabulary words like: trailers, cabs, haul, truckers, steering wheel, and headlight.
Our sight words were old and new: what, said, was, and please.  Phonics--We focused  on initial and middle "u" and "ks" sounds again! We reviewed nouns and verbs  and introduced prepositions. We completed many comprehension questions about trucks and what they haul. We learned about occupations and what kind of transportation they use! For writing, we designed our own "SuperheroTruck" and read our stories to the class.

MATH------- We again successfully completed another unit test on length, height, weight and measurement! Now, we have begun classification, counting and graphing! This is our last unit!

Handwriting-----Still writing Numbers! We learned how to form our numbers, 11, 12, 13, and 14. We then we repeated writing letter "U"  due to our mixup with letter "V" formations.

Religion-- We viewed a Moses video and created a sequence comparison to our Children's Bible. We spoke about the 10 Commandments and what is right and wrong in our world.
Science---We solved Problems! We were challenged with "What If" questions and how to use steps to figure out a problem!

Social Studies-- We discussed maps and
"How to get to our Grandma's house!" We used street signs and right and left words to discuss direction!
