Grade 6

ELA for grade 6 is a prodigiously enjoyable time!

Grammar, vocabulary, and writing skills are all being refined.

Reading together new novels of inspiration

is letting our knowledge become quite the sensation!

In accomplishing all of this, God’s light is defined.

Welcome! It is a delight to have you in grade 6! Our year is continuing wonderfully. The students have learned and composed a five paragraph essay. We are refining vocabulary, grammar, writing and reading skills as we move on this year. We will continue to practice strategies for evidence based questions. Our first novel, A Wrinkle in Time, will allow us many opportunities to study literary devices. Click here for Book Sharing Project information.

Grade 7

ELA for grade 7 is quite a year filled with excitement! Vocabulary, writing, reading are our refinements.

Engaging ourselves with many inspiring novels

is allowing us to gain knowledge that is colossal!

With God guiding us in our work, we are forever enlightened.

Welcome! Very happy to see you again! We have completed our first novella, A Christmas Carol. Literary devices and figurative language were the focal points as we read this classic book. Our writing and grammar skills will continue to be mastered as we move on this year. Currently, we are proceeding with direct and indirect objects. Also, a S.T.R.E.A.M collaborative project is being composed to help us with vocabulary skills. Click here for Book Sharing information. ** Note that at this stage of the year, reading should take at least 15 minutes and the writing of a full paragraph summary should take at least 15 minutes. Therefore, the total amount for the Reading Log and Journal should be at least 30 minutes. **

Grade 8‚Äč
Lourdes’ grade 8 class is the place to be

as we refine writing, grammar, and our morality.

We are reading a considerable amount of stupendous books,

and doing our work using positive outlooks;

while showing Spirit in vitality!

Welcome! Currently, we are engaged in completing The Giver, our first novel for the year. A final essay assessment will be taken soon. Literary devices and figurative language will continue to be mastered, as well as our writing skills. The students have composed research based essays on their chosen Saint for Confirmation. We will progress in mastering our vocabulary, writing, and grammar skills as we move on this year. As we prepare for Confirmation, we will continue to let God's light shine! Click here for Book Sharing information. ** Note that at this stage of the year, reading should take at least 15 minutes and the writing of a full paragraph summary should take at least 15 minutes.
