Our Lady of Lourdes School follows the guidelines set forth by the Diocese of Rockville Centre.
Parents, please remember that a 3 or a B is good. The student receiving these marks demonstrates a full understanding of grade level work. In other words, the student is exactly where he or she should be for that grade.
A 4 or an A is commendable. The student receiving these marks demonstrates a thorough and consistent understanding of grade level objectives and is always able to integrate concepts and skills into all other areas.
A 5 or an E means that in addition to the above, the student also exhibits an ability to think critically in new situations and can produce work that integrates and applies learned skills in creative and complex ways.
Remember - if you have a question about your child's homework, tests, or any other problem that needs clarifying, please contact the teacher first.
Please note that we do not expect children who are very ill, especially with fevers, to be able to do homework. Accordingly, you may contact the teachers once your child has returned to school about making up or adjusting assignments.
Thank you so much for your understanding!
Mrs. Mary Carmel Murphy
