This is my second year at Our Lady of Lourdes and I am absolutely loving it! I was lucky enough to recieve almost all of my education from Catholic institutions. I have my Masters in Education from Hofstra University. Our first grade classroom is our home away from home. Students are encouraged to become their best selves and grow as young Catholics. When I am not teaching, you can find me either in a coffee shop, bagel store, or a pizzeria. The one thing my students will never forget is my love for pizza.

Curriculum
Our 1st grade curriculum includes a hands on approach along with small group instruction. To science experiments and shaving cream spelling, students are always actively learning. Students love the use of our "crazy seats", which allow them to learn and work in different areas of the classroom besides their desks!
First grade is when students make the biggest leaps in their elementary educational careers. In the beginning of the year, students are still learning to read and by the end of the school year, they are now reading to learn! Our curriculum consists of Go Math, HMH Into Reading, Kids Discover Social Studies, and Science Fusion. Along with our Language Arts program, we also use Wilson's Fundation to provide students with all the phonics tools.
