Our Lady of Lourdes Pre-K is designed to prepare our youngest students for a successful transition to kindergarten. The Pre-k program includes a variety of activities to encourage learning in a happy and lively environment. Religion, reading, writing, math, and social studies are integrated into our curriculum. We also participate in special classes such as art, music, and physical education. We still have plenty of time for independent and guided playtime.

     We celebrate different holidays throughout the year such as Halloween, Easter, and Valentine’s Day.  Additionally, we celebrate many special days including the 100^th day of school, Dr Seuss Day, and our fall Harvest Hoedown. At Christmas we have our Nativity pageant for our parents, and we end our year together with our moving up ceremony.

Hi, my name is Bernadette Clausen, and I am the Pre-Kindergarten teacher at OLL. My educational background includes a BA from Dominican College and a MS in early education from Queens College. During my career I have been a teacher in grades Nursery to 2nd Grade and have been a substitute teacher from N-8th grades. I am a parishioner at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. My favorite pastimes are reading, biking, and sitting on the beach!
